Amazon EC2 Unveils Five New Bare Metal Instances
Supporting High-Intensity Workloads for WEB AWS
Press Release
Starting today, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) C7i, M7i, R7i, and R7iz bare metal instances are available. These new bare metal instances are built on the Nitro System and are designed to run high-intensity workloads such as:
- High-performance computing (HPC)
- Big data analytics
- Machine learning
- Video encoding
- Databases
Bare metal instances provide direct access to the underlying hardware, which can result in improved performance and lower latency. This makes them ideal for workloads that require the highest possible performance.
The new EC2 bare metal instances are available in a variety of sizes and configurations. They are powered by the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processors and feature up to 128 vCPUs, 1 TB of memory, and 8 TB of NVMe storage.
