The National Hockey League announced today that the New York Islanders will host the New York Rangers in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium. The game will be played on Saturday, February 18, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET.
Plenty of History and Rivalry on the Line
This will be the second time that the Islanders have hosted the Stadium Series, and the first time that they have hosted the Rangers in the event. The Rangers have played in the Stadium Series twice before, losing to the New Jersey Devils in 2014 and defeating the Los Angeles Kings in 2018.
The Rangers and Islanders are two of the most storied franchises in NHL history, and their rivalry is one of the most passionate in the league. The two teams have met in the playoffs 11 times, with the Rangers holding a 6-5 advantage. The Rangers also have a 116-99-42 record against the Islanders in the regular season.
